Fleeting Flowers in the House-May
Everything is late. The cold stayed around for so long and then all of a sudden a little warmth and a lot of rain. In the blink of an eye everything is suddenly plush and so vibrantly green! Blooming came late though and then has moved on quickly as if to play catch up. My Spring flowers usually allow me to go in stages and we're able to enjoy different flowers that we can bring in every week from the end of April through most of May. Not this year though. This year, its all come in a rush and is leaving in a rush too. Lucky for me that the rush all came this week so I can join in for Jane's Flowers in the house party before they fade away.
Luckily this flower never fades.

I agree--such a strange spring. But what glorious fresh spring flowers you have---are those dogwood?
ReplyDeleteOf course, who need flowers, when you have Max?
Yes, they are. I love bringing them indoors and usually get a couple of weeks that I am able to do so. Not this year, it's practically all green already with hardly any blooms. Same goes for everything else. Hopefully the Summer flowers will last longer.
DeleteWow you did hit the mother lode! Lilac and dogwood at the same time! Your house is like a garden of riches.
ReplyDeleteSurprised you don't have the odd sunflower or two.
After 2 doctors visits and PT this is so nice to come home to.

Your flowers are spectacular! It goes without saying that Max is too!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I will enjoy them now as they are fading fast. Our Spring is rushing right through unlike our Winter.
DeleteYour flowering branches are a delightful, and Max looks like a real sweetie! Thanks for the show!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by. I do love the flowering trees, you just cut and put in a big vase with water. No need to arrange, nature takes care of it. Max thanks you, attention is his middle name.
DeleteI've noticed that many of the flowering tree have leaves at the same time as flowers which takes away from their stunning beauty, especially the redbud. Are the last two photos viburnum? It almost looks like hydrangea but the leaf is different.
ReplyDeleteWow, your house must look fabulous! You are right, it's more enjoyable if the flowers would take turn to bloom and then linger a little.
ReplyDeleteFabulous for a week, now nada. Unlike you, looks like you're enjoying a glorious bounty! Keep those pictures coming.
DeleteYour house must smell delicious! Hi, Max!
ReplyDeleteGreen and white with the scent of lilac. Perfect.

ReplyDeleteYour blog always makes me miss our house in NJ. They tore down our 100 year old dutch colonial! And the giant flowering crab apple. Sickening.
